Some Topical Remedies for Hemorrhoids

If you want to find a way on how to get rid of hemorrhoids fast, you should not look very far because chances are, the remedies are already in your home. One of the first things to look for are topical treatments. You may already have them in your kitchen or you can purchase them at the drug store such as in the case of cream and ointments. Topical treatments address the pain as well as swelling of the hemorrhoids. If you opt for creams and ointments, use those with hydrocortisone, benzocaine, or lidocaine. For those already in your home, one of the great examples is Witch Hazel. Apply pads or water containing this substance on your inflamed anal area. Aloe vera is another good topical treatment for hemorrhoids. It is lubricating and at the same time, soothing. You can get an aloe vera gel at your local drug store or you can also use the gel from the actual plant by breaking a piece of it. Last but not the least is vinegar. You can use either apple cider or white vinegar. Soak a cotton ball in the vinegar then apply it to the anal area to relieve itching, inflammation, and burning sensations.

But aside from these remedies, you should also focus on the internal condition of your body. Always stay hydrated. Drinking lots of fluids will help in softening your stool and thereby making it easier for you to pass them. This lessens the strain on your anus and thus, prevents your hemorrhoids from worsening. Ideally, you should take at least 8 glasses of water everyday.
